1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
3 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. flour
1 c. chopped raisins
1/2 c. water

Mix 1 cup sugar and shortening, add the egg, vanilla and milk.  Sift the 3 cups flour, baking powder and salt together.  Roll out and cut; put on a pan.  For filling mix sugar, flour, raisins and water together in pan.  Stir while cooking.  When mixture is thick, spoon teaspoonfuls onto cookies on the pan and place another cookie on top.  Press down around the edges and bake at 350F until golden.
